What have I been up to lately? Well I finally was able to get a job and I am absolutely loving my new job. I am working at Lux which is the coffee shop I went on a rant about in my previous post. My shift starts at three in the morning but I have the privilege of working with my older sister and I can't complain when I love the job. Aside from working at Lux, I have still been spending a lot of my time there. I also was able to take my "senior pictures" by one of my friends who wants to major in photography because she is currently a freshman at ASU. They actually turned out pretty well so that was nice of her to do that for me. My friend that took my pictures name is Lindsey and I have been very close to her lately and hang out with her most of the time. Last weekend we actually drove up to Tucson to visit our friend Miranda who goes to UofA and had a blast. I was able to visit my cousin Annie who goes there too so that was nice to see her since I hadn't in a while. I think I like UofA better than ASU even though it is in the middle of nowhere because it feels more like a campus than ASU does. This last week I have been very interested in hiking and it all started when the last day of being in Tucson we all decided to go on a hike. I am not the best at hiking but once you are the top and looking over Arizona and enjoying the amazing view then it is completely worth it. I babysat my brothers kids this weekend and Charlotte and I went on two hikes while I was there. Aside from al of those activities I am preparing for Belgium and so incredibly excited. I have to start learning Dutch so that will be interesting and quite difficult I would imagine. I am going to miss my family this summer for our family tradition in California but this trip is going to be worth it and I know I am going to have an amazing time. I can't wait!!

I am pretty sure that everyone who is reading my blog has tried Lux coffee because well only my family really reads this blog. Lux coffee is one of my weaknesses. I am probably at Lux going to get my vanilla latte at least once a day. I think that anybody would say that their coffee is the best. It just tastes so amazing and oh did I mention they have pastries and other yummy treats there? My sister actually bakes for them on certain days of the week so if you are craving a treat from Lux then you should definitely go on the days she is baking. Lux is also one of the cutest coffee shops there is. I always love to go there to work on things or just hang out with people there because I just love the environment there. All the couches and seating is my favorite alongside with the cute old typewriters everywhere. Honestly I may sound crazy just writing a blog post on coffee but if you have not been to Lux then you need to go asap. I will even go with you if I am not there already. Oh and even better, I might be getting a job there if everything works out!

It is two in the morning right now and I am up because I had about the worst dream of my entire life so I will not be sleeping for the rest of the night or probably for the next couple days. I am going to post about my 18th birthday since I have a little time to spare. My birthday started off with my friend Calli taking me out for a very fun day the day before my birthday. She told me some of things that were going on that day but also there were surprises to follow. The first place we ended up going was a a blow dry bar to get our hair all pretty. I have never been to one of those but it was really cool and super fun! After that we went home so I could do my makeup. During all this my mom was at home preparing all the food and other goodies while this whole time I thought I was going out to dinner with Calli and Dani. After that we went to get our nails done and then off to the mall so I could pick an outfit to wear for my party! Of course I went to Free People because that is one of my favorite stores. We went to Calli's house and she was supposed to stall me and we were going to arrive at my house around six where people were waiting there to surprise me. We ended up getting to my house a little early and I was told to go through the front door so thats when I knew something was going on. I was so suspicious by now. I go to my front door and Laurie opens it and that was probably one of the best surprises of the night. I was so incredibly happy to see her and I am so glad she came. I went into my room to change and they were all rushing me saying we had dinner reservations so I was hurrying to get ready and I walked outside and everyone yelled surprise! My family and close friends were all there and I was so surprised honestly. I did not expect that at all and was so happy to see all of them! We had dinner and played a few games and then my friends slept over. It was a great birthday night so thank you to everyone for everything. On my actual birthday I did the crazy thing of getting my belly button and nose pierced in one sitting. My friends came to support me and I almost chickened out by ended up following through and I am so happy. It sure was painful but I am glad I did it and have gotten good compliments from both family and friends. That night I went to dinner with Laurie, my mom and dad and we went to my favorite restaurant which is Postinos. It was a great dinner and a great birthday. Thank you again to everyone!
